World of Halo / Characters / Sergeant Avery J. Johnson

"Then listen up! When I joined the corps, we didn't have any fancy-shmancy tanks. We had sticks. Two sticks and a rock, for the whole platoon! And we had to share the rock. Buck up boy, you're one very lucky Marine."
-- Sergeant Avery J. Johnson

Sergeant Avery J. Johnson appears in every Halo game. He joined the Marines as soon as he was old enough, and since then has been many, many battles. During Halo: Combat Evolved, he escapes the Pillar of Autumn and helps the Master Chief save other Marines. (If you do everything normally, he is the one that takes the passenger seat in the level "Halo".) He helps in other levels, and is the only one to survive the first attack of the Flood besides Keyes.

Johnson is known for his personality. He often makes rude one-liners about the Covenant and fights hard. (He is actually invincible in Halo 2.) Johnson often scoffs in the face of the Covenant and gives bloodthirsty pep talks. Sergeant Johnson is currently a Sergeant Major, having been promoted at the beginning of Halo 2.(He also received the Colonial Cross along with Master Chief.) Johnson is usually in control of a few platoons, and always wants a piece of the action.
